Tip from a user (S.): "Looks like my Vuze/Socks problem was caused by Vuze not seeing my I2CP port - I2CP is listening on 0.0.0.0, Vuze was connecting on a 192.168.x.x local address & didn't work. Changed Vuze to use 127.0.0.1 and it started working" |

Vuze is a commercial BitTorrent client software. It is able to use the I2P network, without having to install I2P. Vuze is limited in its use: "Any use of Vuze® and Vuze+™ that violates the rights of any person or entity is not allowed." (https://www.vuze.com/corp/legal)
Description on Wikipedia: WP: Vuze
In July 2017, two developers, including the person supporting the I2P plugin, left Vuze to work on a open source fork called BiglyBT.[1][2]
Quick start guide
To get it
Currently (2015-03) there is several packages:
- "Vuze" ( https://www.vuze.com/products/vuze-free/ )
- "Vuze leap": a light software that does NOT allow to use I2P.
Download the file from the official web site: https://www.vuze.com
Setup
When installing Vuze: read everything because otherwise it will change the default search engine of your web browser and install adwares.

History of I2P support by Vuze
I2P Network Plugin (2007-2013, deprecated)
From 2012 you could use Vuze (v4.8.1.2+) again for torrent with I2P, with the "I2P Network Plugin".
Have a look on:
From 2014, the "I2P Network Plugin" is deprecated, see the "I2P Helper Plugin" below.
I2P Helper Plugin (2014- )
From 2014, Vuze (v5.3.0.1+) has a default plugin for accessing I2P. This is an option if you like Vuze, and can be quite handy as Vuze offers a number of features other torrenting programs don't.
