VoIP over I2P using Mumble service hosted by 'TronDev'

Wrote by the I2P user 'TronDev', 2013:

I'm going to try to keep this as short and simple as possible. I have to be somewhat general to care-take Linux,Mac, AND Windows users. There is a lot of possibles for errors and something to go wrong (probably why everyone was having much trouble before). I'll be more than happy to help anyone who wants to connect to my server as well as to setup your own server. - TronDev (Find me in IRC #salt)

First, you'll need to know what we are working with...

I'm going to "pretend" (as example) that: links to your I2P Console (website) are http://127.0.0.1:7657/ which will be from here-on referred to as http://127.0.0.1:7657/.

Time for the cake to hit the oven, here is where you (flame monsters of the oven) start getting into action. Don't worry though! This shouldn't take long, it will just LOOK long. Keep focused, and we will be on VoIP->I2P SOON! Time to pack up that battle suit, because we're moving out...

First thing is first, make sure you have I2P installed and running. If not, slap yo' mama because she can't believe what she's hearing!

Second, download and install Mumble and go through the voice setup. If you need more help, let me know and I'll add more information here.

Tutorial [short version]

- Add ( voice.trondev.i2 ) to your address book.

B32: http://66lung2ry4mofu3vyp4ccnjmgdyyr557qvoolxdrpqidheci5dfq.b32.i2p/ NB: This service was hosted by TronDev (user of Irc2p, channel #salt).

- Add a new Tunnel Client as Standard. http://127.0.0.1:7657/i2ptunnel/edit?type=client.

- Set Name to: voice.trondev.i2p

- Set Port to something random ~63000 that isn't in use! (If you get an error...make sure this port isn't being used by something else)

- Set Tunnel Destination: voice.trondev.i2p

- Set Auto Start: Checked

- Set Tunnel Options -> Count: 6 inbound, 6 outbound

- Set Profile: Interactive Connection

Save and start that tunnel. If you have problems connection, check the tunnel page/error logs.

When setting up Mumble, just use 127.0.0.1 and the port number you chose when you setup the tunnel:
